The Quiz: What bridge connects Denmark and Sweden?
A Öresund Bridge
B Great Belt Bridge
C Oland Bridge
The Öresund Bridge, one of the longest in Europe, was completed in 1999 and joins the Danish capital of Copenhagen to the Swedish city of Malmo. It spans the strait of the same name, which connects the Baltic Sea to the Atlantic. The bridge contains both a roadway for cars and a railway for trains. Technically the Öresund is both a bridge and a tunnel. The bridge represents the majority of the span, almost 5 miles, and connects Malmo to an artificial island called Peberholm. The remaining 2.5 miles to Copenhagen is covered by the Peberholm tunnel.
The correct answer to this quiz is Öresund Bridge.
