What’s the fastest speed an iceboat can reach on a river or lake?
A 30-40 mph
B 50-60 mph
C Over 100 mph
Speed depends on boat class. Smaller-class iceboats typically top out at speeds of 50 to 60 mph, but Skeeters, the fastest boats, can reach speeds well over 100 mph. Which begs the question: Once an iceboat reaches top speed, or any speed for that matter, how does it stop? Just like sailing on water, the skipper must sail the boat into the wind. There are no brakes on iceboats. Well, there is a parking brake, but it won’t help you under sail.
The correct answer is Over 100 mph.
