Buzz Aldrin followed Neil Armstrong out of the lunar lander on NASA’s Apollo 11 mission. The two spent a couple of hours exploring the landing area. Aldrin is one of 24 astronauts to travel to the moon and one of just 12 to set foot on it between 1969 and the last Apollo mission in 1972. Aldrin is a West Point cadet, a mechanical engineer, and served as a fighter pilot during the Korean War.
