The Grand Canyon Skywalk is on the Hualapai Indian Reservation, at the edge of a side canyon in the Grand Canyon West area of the main canyon. The U-shaped structure of cantilevered glass juts 70 feet from the edge of the canyon, and hovers about 4,000 feet above the canyon’s riverbed. The engineers behind the skywalk say it’s strong enough to support the weight of 71 loaded 747 passenger planes and withstand 100 mph winds.
